Group Lesson Policies and Fees

Fees: The price for group classes varies based on the number of instructional hours as well as the supplies needed for the class. The prices of our group classes are listed after the course descriptions.
Open-Enrollment Periods: At the beginning of a new semester, an open-enrollment period and/or free trial class are announced for the group classes. This period is the best time to try-out and/or enroll in a group class. If you miss this period but want to enroll a student, contact the office as enrollment may still be an option based on faculty input.
Attendance: Please notify the office of any student absences by 9:00 AM (either by calling 508.429.4772 or email), as this allows the faculty to adjust lesson plans and send missed assignments (if appropriate) to the student. Individual student absences from group classes and ensembles are not made up or credited.

Private Lesson Policies and Fees

Fees: Students enrolled in private instrumental lessons will have their time reserved for the academic year (September through June). New students may enroll at any time of the year on a time-available basis. Tuition will be prorated. A ½ hour private instrumental lesson is $30; forty-five minute lessons ($45) and hour long lessons ($60) are also available.
Trial Period: Newly enrolled students involved in private instrumental lessons are registered in a trial period whereby HSA can ensure a proper fit between student, faculty, and curriculum. Lessons in the trial period are prorated and consist of the first four sessions. At the conclusion of the 4th lesson of the trial period the parent(s) and student will meet with staff at HSA to discuss how the relationship between student, faculty, and administration is progressing.
Attendance: Credits will not be offered for missed private lessons. Make-ups may be offered based on faculty availability provided that the office is notified by 9:00 AM of day of the lesson (either by calling 508-429-4772 or emailing schedule@hollistonarts.com). No shows/no calls will not receive a make-up lesson or credit. It is the responsibility of the parent or student to communicate with the office in order to schedule a make-up lesson.
Promptness: Students who arrive late for their lesson lose that time. Teachers need to stay on schedule in fairness to their other students.
